The 6 Steps to Doggie Style

Each step encompasses a range of activities that guarantee your dog will receive a full professional groom, specific to its breed, and it's all included in our price.
We don't believe in charging 'little extras' for the services we feel should always be part of a professional grooming service that is focused on your dog.

1. Health Check
Your dog is examined for problems such as matts, fleas, ticks & skin irritations which will be taken into consideration during the grooming process. This check may also highlight some potential problems such as infections, inflammations or lumps which may need veterinary attention..

2. Brush Comb & Minor Dematting
Your dog is thoroughly brushed and combed to remove any tangles, loosen dirt and remove dead hair. This stimulates the skin and allows the natural hair oils to circulate. Minor matts are treated and removed at this stage.

3. Warm Therapeutic Bath
Your dog is washed in our specially imported Hydro-Bath which massages the dog with warm water while being shampooed. Each dog is treated with a shampoo that is chosen to suit its hair type, colour & skin condition before being rinsed with fresh warm water.

4. Fluff or Towel dry
Your dog is ‘blasted’ with a jet of air to remove excess water, then towel dried & finally ‘fluff’ dried on our grooming table. This drying process prepares the dogs coat for styling by lifting, fluffing and in some cases straightening the coat. We do not use cage driers at Doggie Style.

5. Nail Trimming & Ear Cleaning
Your dog’s nails are inspected and trimmed if they are too long as extended growth can raise health issues. Ears are swabbed with ear cleaner to remove ear wax and then dusted with medicated ear powder which helps prevent ear infections. .

6. Haircuts or Shavedowns
Your dog’s coat is trimmed using clippers which gently cut away excess hair to a desired predetermined length. After the clipping, scissors are used to put on the finishing touches.
All clips/trims are per breed style unless you request a different finish.
